The Maker's Story

Hello, welcome to my shop!
I'm Kristin, the owner and silversmith of Branded K Company. I am a Texas gal through and through. This is where I was born, raised, and where I reside. I grew up in hot south Texas, where I was/am surrounded by beautiful live oaks, thick black brush, and animals that bring serenity to my life. When I was a little girl, I always loved to draw, paint, make little clay sculptures, and anything artsy. The big question we always get is, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" and my answer was always, "artist". In my little kid head, I was referring to drawing artist, but as time went on, I moved towards a more realistic dream career. My family are stewards of the land and have been raising cattle for generations, which brought me to love cattle and horses at a young age. I joined FFA and 4H in my high school years showing cattle. I still took art classes because it brings me to my happy place. During my senior year in high school, I started to date my high school sweetheart, Michael.
Showing cattle grew my interest in livestock and persuaded me to continue my education at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. I graduated in class of 2022, with a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration of Animal Science and a minor in Agricultural Communications. After college I moved back down to my stomping grounds in Floresville, Texas.
After 5 years, Michael and I tied the knot in 2023. We bought a home together in Floresville. Later that year we brought our wonderful and handsome little boy, Evan, into our life. I have been a stay-at-home mom putting all my time and energy into raising our bundle of joy. After Evan turned one, I had an itch to start a business for myself. I always loved art and expressing my creative thoughts, but I honestly was unsure of what path to take. I prayed to God, "What do I do? What career do I set my heart to? Please guide me".
I later came across an ad for a silversmithing class, and I couldn't get it out of my head. The more I thought about it, the more I realized it was the perfect gig for me. At the livestock shows, my favorite things to do there besides showing was shopping for some turquoise jewelry. It fascinated me seeing all the unique pieces and beautiful stones. So my love for jewelry, being able to express my creativity, and it’s a job that allows me to be home close with my family. I gave it a try!
I signed up and attended my first silversmithing class in May of 2025. I fell in love with the craft and have been creating pieces ever since. In August 2025, Branded K Company was established.
I have so many ideas and I'm so excited to bring them to life! Each piece I make will always be made with love and intention. I am a slow creator meaning I take time with each piece to ensure its quality and made to last several lifetimes!
